- Background:
Northeast Slow Food and Agrobiodiversity Society (NESFAS) is undertaking a project to enhance the conservation and sustainable use of agrobiodiversity and wild biodiversity in various villages in Meghalaya. As part of this work, NESFAS is undertaking the upgradation of People’s Biodiversity Registers through strengthening of Biodiversity Management Committees. Following the upgradation of the PBRs, BMCs and communities are engaged in a process to improve the management of biodiversity and natural resources within their lands. As part of this work, NESFAS seeks to hire a GIS person who will be involved in preparation of maps.
- Scope of work:
The candidate will work with the community from 23 villages in Meghalaya. The work involves training and collecting GPS from the villages with the community and will be involved in preparing a village boundary map for the villages.
- Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Geography/Science along with experience in GIS mapping.
- The ability to work in hilly, rainy and remote field locations.
