Empowering youth to strengthen Indigenous Food Systems

An Indigenous Youth Fellowship Programme at the local level was conducted for a period of one month in April this year; it stried to empower local communities to acknowledge the Indigenous Food Systems (IFS) and simultaneously to safeguard and preserve the agricultural practices for the overall well-being of the communities.

The official launch (online event) of the book entitled “Indigenous Peoples’ food systems: Insights on sustainability and resilience from the frontline of climate change” published by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the UN and the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT was held on June 25, 2021.

The Khasi Food System recognised in UN-FAO publication

The Khasi Food System gained recognition in an international publication “Indigenous Peoples’ food systems: Insights on sustainability and resilience from the frontline of climate change”. This book is by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the UN and the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT and was officially launched on June 25, 2021 through an online event.
